The Gift Card is a great alternative gift that you can share with family friends and loved ones. The recipient of the Gift Card is then able to choose a gift from the Oxfam Unwrapped e-store that will be used to support Oxfam Canada’s work to help end global poverty and injustice. The Gift Card can be used for any combination of gifts up to the value indicated on the card. If the items selected exceeds the value of the card the balance can be charged to a credit card. If the items selected are below the stated value of the card the holder will be asked to continue shopping or donate the balance of the card by selecting a “Gift of Peace” in the “A Gift that Keeps on Giving” category. Unlike retail Gift Cards or debit-style cards, the Oxfam Unwrapped Gift Card is considered a donation at the time the Gift Card is purchased. Only the purchaser of the Gift Card is entitled to a tax receipt equal to the value stated on the card. A tax creditable receipt can be acquired through the Oxfam Unwrapped web site www.oxfamunwrapped.ca. It is important to note that the card is designed for one time use only and once redeemed it cannot be used again. By giving the Oxfam Unwrapped Gift Card to a loved one, friend or family member, they become part of the gift-giving experience!
The Oxfam Unwrapped Gift Card, can be redeemed by the purchaser of the card for a tax credit equal to the stated value of the card. It is important to note that the card is designed for one time use only and once redeemed it cannot be used again. You may receive your tax creditable receipt by redeeming your card at www.OxfamUnwrapped.ca and choosing the “I purchased the gift” option when presented. Oxfam Canada is always conscious of reducing administration costs so that as much of your donation gets to where it is need most. For this reason we are not able to notify you of the gifts that have been selected. Please feel free to contact them directly and ask them about the life-changing gifts they’ve chosen. For donation amounts below the value of the card, that is lower than our lowest priced gift can be donated to Oxfam by making a “Gift of Peace” which is found in the “ A gift that keeps giving” section of the site. Or you may combine your credit card and the amount left on your Gift Card to purchase another other item. Either way, please know that your donation will go to helping women, men girls and boys in poor communities around the world. If you choose items that have a higher value than the amount on the Gift Card, you will be asked if you would like to donate the difference through your credit card. There are no expiry dates on cards, so you are able to redeem your card at any time. Yes, your card is good. The card has no value until purchased and activated. It is not redeemable for cash and cannot be replaced if lost/stolen. No refunds or exchanges are allowed. An electronic tax receipt for the stated value of the card can be issued to the purchaser of the card. Any amount in excess of the stated card value is tax creditable for either purchasers or recipients. Yes. You can redeem as many Gift Cards as you like.
